Simon Marchi	c058728c31	gdbserver: introduce threads_debug_printf, THREADS_SCOPED_DEBUG_ENTER_EXIT Add the threads_debug_printf and THREADS_SCOPED_DEBUG_ENTER_EXIT, which use the logging infrastructure from gdbsupport/common-debug.h. Replace all debug_print uses that are predicated by debug_threads with threads_dethreads_debug_printf. Replace uses of the debug_enter and debug_exit macros with THREADS_SCOPED_DEBUG_ENTER_EXIT, which serves essentially the same purpose, but allows showing what comes between the enter and the exit in an indented form. Note that "threads" debug is currently used for a bit of everything in GDBserver, not only threads related stuff. Simon Marchi	c68665c726	gdbserver: turn debug_threads into a boolean debug_threads is always used as a boolean. Except in ax.cc and tracepoint.cc. These files have their own macros that use debug_threads, and have a concept of verbosity level. But they both have a single level, so it's just a boolean in the end. Remove this concept of level. If we ever want to re-introduce it, I think it will be better implemented in a more common location. Change debug_threads to bool and adjust some users that were treating it as an int. Tom Tromey	919adfe840	Move gdbserver to top level This patch moves gdbserver to the top level. This patch is as close to a pure move as possible -- gdbserver still builds its own variant of gnulib and gdbsupport. Changing this will be done in a separate patch. [v2] Note that, per Simon's review comment, this patch changes the tree so that gdbserver is not built for or1k or score. This makes sense, because there is apparently not actually a gdbserver port here. [v3] This version of the patch also splits out some configury into a new file, gdbserver/configure.host, so that the top-level configure script can simply rely on it in order to decide whether gdbserver should be built. [v4] This version adds documentation and removes some unnecessary top-level dependencies. [v5] Update docs to mention "make all-gdbserver" and change how top-level configure decides whether to build gdbserver, switching to a single, shared script. Tested by the buildbot. Alan Hayward	c1bc0935a4	gdbserver: Move remote_debug to a single place A comment in debug.h (written in 2014) states: "We declare debug format variables here, and debug_threads but no other debug content variables (e.g., not remote_debug) because while this file is not currently used by IPA it may be some day, and IPA may have its own set of debug content variables". This has resulted in remote_debug being declared in many .c/.h files throughout gdbserver. It would be much simplier to define it one place. The most logical place to define it is in debug.h, surrounded by #define guards. Tom Tromey	1a5c25988e	Normalize include guards in gdb While working on my other scripts to deal with gdb headers, I noticed that some files were missing include guards. I wrote a script to add the missing ones, but found that using the obvious names for the guards ran into clashes -- for example, gdb/nat/linux-nat.h used "LINUX_NAT_H", but this was also the script's choice for gdb/linux-nat.h. So, I changed the script to normalize all include guards in gdb. This patch is the result. Joel Brobecker	42a4f53d2b	Update copyright year range in all GDB files. This commit applies all changes made after running the gdb/copyright.py script. Note that one file was flagged by the script, due to an invalid copyright header (gdb/unittests/basic_string_view/element_access/char/empty.cc). As the file was copied from GCC's libstdc++-v3 testsuite, this commit leaves this file untouched for the time being; a patch to fix the header was sent to gcc-patches first. gdb/ChangeLog: Update copyright year range in all GDB files.	7 years ago

Gary Benson	34abf635b3	Introduce common-debug.h This introduces common-debug.h. This holds the functions debug_printf and debug_vprintf, two functions that the common code can use to print debugging messages. Clients of the common code are expected to implement debug_vprintf; a debug_vprintf function is written from scratch for GDB, and gdbserver's existing debug_printf is repurposed as debug_vprintf. common/agent.c is changed to use debug_vprintf rather than defining the macro DEBUG_AGENT depending on GDBSERVER. nat/i386-dregs.c is changed to use the externally-implemented debug_printf, rather than defining it itself. gdb/ChangeLog: * common/common-debug.h: New file. * common/common-debug.c: Likewise. * debug.c: Likewise. * Makefile.in (SFILES): Add common/common-debug.c.
